Some art forms are more ephemeric than others.

In other comic news, I sent in some dialog for page 6 of IO30CD. Look out for it in a couple of days, and keep your fingers crossed when the voting starts...

Not if you know how to preserve it correctly:

Google "etch-a-sketch artist" for more examples.

The voting for IO30CD page 6 dialog has started. Check out the poll page and see if you can guess which suggestion is mine. (The page will probably be removed and replaced with a result page next week, so if I don't win this may be your only chance to see it.)

Sunday update: The voting is over and my suggestion, number 2, came in second with 16 first choice votes. (Actually a total of 60 of 70 had number 2 as first second third or fourth choice, but the winner got enough first choice votes to win in the first round.)

Daring the jinx, he said:

Has anyone mentioned Breakfast of the Gods yet? That is a comic with a serious, and a seriously silly, slant.

(I did a search for 'Breakfast' and 'gods' and came up blank, so maybe I dodged the jinx)

Better than that, it's a surreal cereal serial!

For every action, there is an utterly inappropriate reaction.

And then there's this.

The Create a Comic Project (CCP) is a youth literacy activity that uses comics to teach creative writing. The CCP uses two kinds of templates for instruction: blank panels, allowing kids to draw their own, and pre-drawn comics with only the original dialogue blanked out. This website is dedicated to hosting the creations of the students who participated in the CCP. Both original and "remixed" comics* are posted here for all to see.

Every comic here is the work of one or more children. While I provided guidance and technical knowledge (what a dialogue bubble is, how to read expressions, etc.), I was always careful not to tell the kids what to write. So each comic posted here is the free and open creation of a young mind.

"Be afraid. Be very afraid."

Yaaaayyy!

For those who haven't checked the site of late, Alice Otter (last mentioned on page 7) is back - and how! Her creator explains:

Yaaay!

It took me an awful lot of time, but here she is again! The last Sunday, it was Alice Otter's 6th birthday, and, shame on me, I hadn't updated the strip on almost 6 months! So I thought my best birthday gift to her was to reactivate the strip and have a special '24-hour marathon' where I wouldn't do anything but drawing strip after strip of the ottergirl. And these five strips are the result! I know it's not a LOT of strips, but at least it's a step to catch-up.

If I find the time, I may have some more things to catch up and draw more Alice Otter strips. 'Cause we all need her!

Today's catch goes by the somewhat cryptic (and punny) name of Inc.'ed and the content is a bit strange too. One of the characters works in a comic!
And there is something oddly familiar about the first episode...

Oops, almost slipped off the second index page there. Seems to have been a pretty quiet summer comic wise. And it's getting even quieter. Rather than introduce a new comic today I have bumped this to put an old one to bed. It's a bit late (it ended in July) but when I was catching up on comics I follow irregularly, I discovered that the fur had flown. A bit less cryptically, Fur Will Fly has come to an end after seven years. Time to thank Brad and the gang for a nice trip, and if you are a newcomer who hasn't heard of it yet you can start here. Have a nice trip and watch your step. ;)

It isn't all over though. According to the last strip (which comes after a "where are they now" ending and a couple of group shots) there is a spinoff in the works that should appear in October.
